About Marcus
Marcus covers the European employment law beat for Peorient. He started his career as a labour lawyer at a Dutch employment boutique advising on collective bargaining (CAO) and Works Council matters under the Wet op de Ondernemingsraden, then moved in-house as HR Director at a Dutch HR-tech scale-up where he built out compliant employment structures across nine EU countries over four years. He has handled hundreds of Kündigungsschutzgesetz disputes in Germany alongside German counsel, run the integration of a 60-person Polish acquisition under the new ZUS framework, and is one of a small number of advisors who has actually filed Wet Arbeidsmarkt in Balans paperwork rather than just written about it. He lives in Amsterdam and reviews every Peorient European country guide for accuracy before publication.
