Remunance and Deel both act as employer of record in India, but they are built for different buyers. Remunance is an India-only provider based in Pune; Deel is a global HR platform that runs employment, contractors and payroll in 150+ countries. For an India hire, the legal work is the same under either one, because the same PF, gratuity and labour code rules apply. What changes is the fee, and the gap is large.

This comparison uses each provider’s own pricing and India pages, checked on 5 November 2026, and the all-in costs from our India EOR Price Index 2026.

Need to know

Quick Answer

For hiring in India, Remunance costs less than Deel at every salary: its EOR fee is USD 99, USD 149 or USD 199 a month by salary band, against Deel's USD 599, so an 18 LPA hire costs ₹20.72 lakh a year all-in instead of ₹25.84 lakh. Deel is the better fit when India is one of many countries you want on a single platform.

  • Remunance's EOR fee in India is USD 99, USD 149 or USD 199 a month by salary band (Remunance cost calculator). Deel's starts at USD 599 per EOR employee a month (Deel pricing page).
  • On our India EOR Price Index assumptions, Deel costs ₹4.55 lakh to ₹5.69 lakh a year more per hire than Remunance, and its fee is 43.8% of an 8 LPA hire's all-in cost.
  • Both employ your hire through their own Indian company: Remunance under its own PF, ESI, professional tax, LWF and TAN registrations in Pune, and Deel through a wholly owned entity registered in Bengaluru (Deel India EOR guide).
  • Remunance says an offer can go out the same working day you sign; Deel says a hire can start in as little as 3 days. In India, the candidate's notice period usually decides the real start date.
  • Deel wins on breadth: EOR in 130+ countries, contractors from USD 49 and a US PEO on one platform. Remunance is India only, and reaches 180+ countries through Hightekers Group, the group behind Rivermate.

How much does Remunance cost compared with Deel in India?

An India hire costs ₹4.55 lakh to ₹5.69 lakh a year less through Remunance than through Deel, depending on salary. The salary, employer PF at 12% (EPFO contribution rates), the gratuity provision (labour ministry employer handbook, page 26) and health cover cost the same under either provider, because the same law applies. Only the fee differs.

The gap grows with headcount. Five India hires cost USD 5,940 a year in fees at USD 99 and USD 35,940 at USD 599, a USD 30,000 difference for the same five people. Even at its top band of USD 199, Remunance’s fee is USD 400 a month below Deel’s starting price, or USD 4,800 a year per hire.

Deel’s fee is the same at every salary, so it weighs most on junior roles: at 8 LPA it is 43.8% of the all-in cost, against 11.4% with Remunance. Our guide to employer of record cost in India shows how the statutory lines are built, and the EPF and ESIC guide covers the ₹25,000 PF ceiling behind them.

Who employs your hire in India with each provider?

Both providers employ your hire through their own Indian company rather than a local partner. Remunance employs India hires under its own PF, ESI, professional tax, LWF and TAN registrations, so you register nothing in India, according to its pricing page, and its entity is in Pune (Remunance EOR services). Deel’s EOR page says it owns entities and its payroll engine in 130+ countries, and its India EOR guide says it operates a wholly owned legal entity registered in Bengaluru.

That puts the two on equal footing for compliance control. Whichever you choose, ask for the legal name of the Indian employer in writing and check that it appears on the employment contract and the payslips. Our Deel review and Remunance review cover each provider in more depth.

What does each provider's fee include?

Both fees cover the core employer work in India: the contract, payroll, statutory deposits and filings, benefits administration and onboarding. The differences sit at the edges.

  • Remunance lists the contract and IP assignment, its own registrations, monthly payroll, TDS, PF, ESI and professional tax paid and filed, Form 130 (which replaces Form 16) for every employee, benefits administration, onboarding, and exits through notice, letters and the full and final settlement (pricing page). Salary and statutory costs pass through at cost.
  • Deel lists employee onboarding and local compliance, payroll processing and tax filings, benefits administration and ongoing HR and legal support. It sells month to month with no long-term contract, and if you cancel, local labour law applies to notice and severance (Deel pricing FAQ).

What should you ask both before you sign?

  • The exchange rate and margin. Deel says it provides competitive exchange rates but does not publish a margin; Remunance’s own page tells buyers to ask which rate converts their funding and any margin on top. Get both answers in writing.
  • Health insurance. Deel’s India page lists private health cover as optional; Remunance passes through the group policy you choose at cost. Ask for the premium per employee.
  • Exits. Final wages are due within two working days of an exit under the labour codes, so ask how each provider runs the final settlement. Our termination and severance guide sets out the rules.

How fast can each provider onboard an India hire?

Remunance says an offer can go out the same working day you sign the contract; Deel says your hire could start in as little as 3 days. Both are fast enough that the provider is rarely the bottleneck in India. The candidate’s notice period with their current employer usually decides the real start date, a point Remunance makes on its pricing page.

Where speed does differ is recruitment. Remunance recruits for a fee of 9% of CTC, so one team can find the candidate, build an offer that works for Indian payroll and employ them. Deel’s pricing page does not price recruitment, so you would bring your own candidate or recruiter.

Which is better if you hire beyond India?

Deel, if you want every country on one platform. Deel offers EOR in 130+ countries, contractor payments from USD 49 a month, Contractor of Record from USD 325 and a US PEO from USD 125, all on one HR platform (Deel pricing page). For a company hiring in many countries at once, that single contract and dashboard is the reason to pay USD 599 in India.

Remunance is India only, but since June 2026 it has been part of Hightekers Group, the group behind Rivermate, which reaches 180+ countries (Remunance pricing page). So an India-first company can keep its Indian team with a specialist and still cover other countries within the same group. Our Rivermate review covers that side. Peorient is affiliated with Remunance and Rivermate and may earn a referral fee.

For contractors, the two price differently. Deel charges a flat fee from USD 49 a contractor a month; Remunance charges a share of each payment, below Wisemonk’s 6%. A flat fee suits high-billing contractors and a percentage suits smaller ones, so ask Remunance for its exact rate and compare it on your contractor’s billing. Our guide to paying contractors in India compares every route.

Should you choose Remunance or Deel?

Choose Remunance if India is your main or only hiring market; choose Deel if India is one country among many and you want one platform for all of them.

Remunance fits best when

  • your team is all or mostly in India, or India is your first market;
  • you hire junior and mid-level roles, where a USD 599 fee is a large share of cost;
  • you want recruitment at 9% of CTC and EOR from the same team;
  • you want India specialists running PF, gratuity and exits.

Deel fits best when

  • you already run employees or contractors in several countries on Deel;
  • you want one contract, one invoice and one HR system across countries;
  • the extra ₹4.55 lakh to ₹5.69 lakh a year per India hire is worth that convenience.

If you are weighing other global platforms too, our Deel vs Remote comparison, Remote review, Multiplier review and list of Deel alternatives cover them, and our best EOR in India guide ranks 12 providers.

What else do buyers ask about Remunance and Deel?

  • Is Remunance cheaper than Deel in India?

    Yes. Remunance's EOR fee is USD 99, USD 149 or USD 199 a month by salary band, against Deel's USD 599. On our India EOR Price Index assumptions, an 18 LPA hire costs ₹20.72 lakh a year all-in with Remunance and ₹25.84 lakh with Deel, a gap of ₹5.12 lakh ($5,400). Peorient is affiliated with Remunance and may earn a referral fee.

  • Does Deel have its own entity in India?

    Yes. Deel's India EOR guide says it operates a wholly owned legal entity registered in Bengaluru, and its EOR page says it owns entities in 130+ countries. Remunance also employs through its own Indian company, in Pune.

  • How much does Deel cost per employee in India?

    Deel's EOR fee starts at USD 599 per employee a month on its pricing page, the same as its India page's management fee, on month-to-month terms. Salary, employer PF, gratuity and benefits come on top, which puts an 18 LPA hire at about ₹25.84 lakh a year all-in.

  • What does Remunance charge to recruit and employ in India?

    Remunance charges an EOR fee of USD 99, USD 149 or USD 199 a month by salary band, according to its cost calculator, and 9% of CTC to recruit a hire, according to its pricing page. Contractor payments cost less than Wisemonk's 6% per payment. Peorient is affiliated with Remunance and may earn a referral fee.

  • Which is faster, Remunance or Deel?

    Both are fast. Remunance says an offer can go out the same working day you sign the contract, and Deel says a hire can start in as little as 3 days. In India, the candidate's notice period with their current employer usually sets the start date.

  • Is Remunance only for India?

    Remunance itself employs only in India. Since June 2026 it has been part of Hightekers Group, the group behind Rivermate, which reaches 180+ countries, so companies hiring elsewhere can stay within the same group. Peorient is affiliated with Remunance and Rivermate and may earn a referral fee.

  • Can I move an employee from Deel to Remunance?

    Yes, but it is a change of legal employer: the employment with Deel's Indian entity ends and a new contract starts with Remunance. Agree the transfer date with both providers in writing, and ask each how it handles the final settlement, accrued leave and gratuity service so the employee loses nothing in the move.

How can Peorient help you choose between Remunance and Deel?
