Multiplier is a global employer of record founded in January 2020 by Sagar Khatri, Amritpal Singh and Vamsi Krishna, and it raised a $60 million Series B in March 2022, according to its About page. It sells EOR, contractor of record, global payroll and immigration support, and says it hires and pays talent in 150+ countries.

This review looks at Multiplier from the side of a company hiring in India: what it charges, what an Indian hire costs all-in, what its India page does and does not say, and when an India specialist is the better buy. Prices come from Multiplier’s own pricing page, checked on 4 November 2026, and India costs come from the Peorient India EOR Price Index.

Need to know

Quick Answer

Multiplier charges from $459 per employee a month on annual contracts, or $499 month to month, plus compliance add-ons and an implementation fee where they apply. That is $140 below Deel and Remote's $599, but 2.3 to 4.6 times what India specialists charge, so an 18 LPA hire costs about ₹24.25 lakh a year all-in.

  • Multiplier's Core EOR plan costs $459 per employee a month billed annually, or $499 billed monthly, and Growth costs $519 or $559 (Multiplier pricing).
  • Both plans add compliance-mandated add-ons and an implementation fee as applicable, so the list price is a floor, not a total.
  • On our India EOR Price Index assumptions, an 18 LPA hire costs ₹24.25 lakh a year through Multiplier, against ₹20.72 lakh with Remunance and ₹25.84 lakh with Remote.
  • Multiplier's India EOR page does not say whether it employs through its own Indian entity, so ask for the entity name before you sign.
  • Choose Multiplier for one platform across many countries. For an India-only team, an India specialist such as Remunance costs ₹2.96 lakh to ₹4.10 lakh less per hire each year.

What is Multiplier, and who is it built for?

Multiplier is a multi-country EOR and payroll platform built for companies with teams in several countries, not an India specialist. Its products cover employer of record, contractor of record, contractor payments, global payroll, immigration support and localised benefits, and in October 2025 it launched Non-Resident Employer payroll for paying staff without a local entity (About page).

The company describes itself as a 670-person remote team across 35 countries. Its pricing page says it supports hiring, payroll and workforce management in 160+ countries, while its About page says 150+, so ask which count applies to the countries you need.

Multiplier’s EOR starts at $459 per employee a month on an annual contract and $499 on a monthly contract, and its Growth plan starts at $519 or $559. Both plans carry compliance-mandated add-ons and an implementation fee as applicable, and Enterprise is priced on request (Multiplier pricing).

Does Multiplier charge more in some countries?

In a few. Its pricing FAQ says about 11% of the countries it supports have adjusted pricing to reflect local wages, statutory rules and payroll complexity. India is not one of them on current evidence: the India EOR page quotes the same $459 starting price.

Paying monthly instead of annually costs $40 more per employee a month, or $480 a year, in return for not committing to 12 months.

What does an India hire cost through Multiplier?

On our Price Index assumptions, a Multiplier hire costs ₹13.96 lakh a year at 8 LPA, ₹24.25 lakh at 18 LPA and ₹41.74 lakh at 35 LPA, all-in. The fee is a flat $459, so it weighs most on junior salaries: 37.4% of the all-in cost at 8 LPA, against 12.5% at 35 LPA.

Source: Peorient India EOR Price Index 2026 (CSV). All-in means salary, employer PF, gratuity provision, ₹1,000 a month health cover and the EOR fee, converted at ₹94.8 per US dollar in line with the Federal Reserve H.10 release of 26 October 2026. At 18 LPA, Multiplier's $459 fee puts the all-in cost at ₹24.25 lakh a year, against ₹20.72 lakh with Remunance and ₹25.84 lakh with Remote.

Add-ons and the implementation fee would widen these gaps, so ask Multiplier for a written quote at your exact salary. The Price Index runs the same calculation for 12 providers, and our EOR cost in India guide breaks down the statutory part of the bill.

Does Multiplier own its entity in India?

Multiplier’s India EOR page does not say whether it employs Indian staff through its own company or through a local partner. It describes Multiplier acting as the legal employer, but names no Indian entity (Multiplier India EOR page, checked 4 November 2026).

That matters because the employing entity holds the PF, ESIC and professional tax registrations and signs the employment contract. In our Price Index, only 4 of 12 providers say on their own sites that they employ in India through a company they own: Remunance, Wisemonk, Rippling and Remote. Before you sign with any EOR, ask for the Indian entity’s legal name and Corporate Identity Number and check it on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs register.

What is included in Multiplier's EOR fee?

Multiplier says the EOR fee covers compliant employment, local contracts, payroll processing, tax and statutory filings, benefits administration, onboarding and ongoing HR support. That list is in its pricing FAQ, which also says there is no minimum headcount and that most employees can be onboarded in days.

The Growth plan adds onboarding automation at scale, integrations with HRIS, expense, accounting and payroll systems, custom reports and open APIs. For India, ask whether group health insurance premiums are included or billed on top, because the FAQ lists benefits administration rather than benefits themselves.

What does Multiplier do well?

Multiplier is strongest as one platform for many countries, with prices you can see before a sales call.

  • Published prices. Annual and monthly rates for Core and Growth are on the pricing page, so you can budget before you talk to sales.
  • A lower entry fee than the $599 platforms. $459 is $140 a month below the entry fees on Deel’s and Remote’s pricing pages.
  • Breadth. EOR, contractor of record, global payroll and immigration support sit in one product.
  • Low commitment. The pricing page says “Start today, cancel anytime” and sets no minimum headcount.
  • Current India rules. Its India page already reflects the ₹25,000 EPF wage ceiling from 17 September 2026, covered in our EPF and ESIC guide.

Where does Multiplier fall short for India hiring?

The main drawback is cost: in India, Multiplier’s fee is 2.3 to 4.6 times what India specialists charge for the same statutory payroll.

  • India cost. On our assumptions, a Multiplier hire costs ₹2.96 lakh to ₹4.10 lakh a year more than the same hire through Remunance.
  • The total is not on the page. Compliance-mandated add-ons and the implementation fee are listed “as applicable”, with no amounts.
  • No entity statement. The India page does not name the company that would employ your team.
  • Two country counts. The About page says 150+ countries and the pricing FAQ says 160+.
  • A self-reported rating. The 4.7 out of 5 G2 score appears on Multiplier’s own pages; check the live G2 listing before you rely on it.

Multiplier vs Remunance vs Deel vs Remote: which costs less in India?

For an India-only team, the India specialists win on cost by a wide margin. Multiplier sits between them and the $599 global platforms, which suits a company that needs one contract across several countries. See Remunance vs Wisemonk, Deel vs Remote and the full Best EOR in India ranking.

Who should choose Multiplier, and who should skip it?

Choose Multiplier when India is one of several countries you hire in; skip it when India is your only market.

Who is Multiplier a good fit for?

  • Companies hiring in several countries that want one platform, one contract and one invoice
  • Teams that need contractor of record or immigration support alongside EOR
  • Buyers who want monthly billing without a 12-month commitment, at $499

Who should look elsewhere?

  • Companies hiring only, or mostly, in India
  • Junior and mid-level roles, where a $459 fee is 21.5% to 37.4% of the all-in cost
  • Buyers who need the employing Indian entity named in writing before signing

What should you ask Multiplier before you sign?

Get these seven answers in writing, and ask every provider on your shortlist the same questions.

  1. Which Indian company will employ my team, and what is its Corporate Identity Number?
  2. Which compliance-mandated add-ons apply in India, and what does each cost a month?
  3. Is there an implementation fee for India, and how much is it?
  4. Which exchange rate and margin apply to my invoices?
  5. Do you require a deposit, and when is it refunded?
  6. How do you handle notice, the final settlement and gratuity when someone leaves? Our termination and severance guide lists what Indian law requires.
  7. What does it cost to move my team onto my own entity later? See EOR vs subsidiary in India.

What is the Peorient verdict on Multiplier?

Multiplier scores 3.6 out of 5 for companies hiring in India. It is a capable multi-country platform with published prices and a lower entry fee than Deel or Remote, but for an India-only team the flat $459 fee, the unpriced add-ons and the missing entity statement make an India specialist the better buy.

What else do buyers ask about Multiplier?

  • How much does Multiplier cost per employee?

Multiplier charges $459 per employee a month on an annual Core contract or $499 month to month, and $519 or $559 on the Growth plan. Compliance-mandated add-ons and an implementation fee apply where relevant, and their amounts are not published.

  • Is Multiplier cheaper than Deel?

On list price, yes. Multiplier's $459 annual Core price is $140 below the $599 entry fee on Deel's pricing page. In India both cost far more than specialists such as Remunance, which start at $99 a month.

  • Does Multiplier have its own entity in India?

Multiplier's India EOR page does not say. Ask for the name and Corporate Identity Number of the Indian company that would employ your team, and check it on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs register.

  • Does Multiplier charge an implementation fee?

Its pricing page lists an implementation fee "as applicable" on both the Core and Growth plans, alongside compliance-mandated add-ons, without publishing the amounts. Ask for both in your quote.

  • How much does Multiplier's contractor of record service cost?

Multiplier says its contractor of record pricing starts at $400 per contractor a month, and its global payroll starts at $20 per employee a month for countries where you already have an entity.

  • Is Multiplier good for hiring in India?

It can employ and pay staff in India, but on our assumptions it costs ₹2.96 lakh to ₹4.10 lakh more per hire each year than Remunance. It makes most sense when India is one of several countries on a single contract.
